TO DO!

Woman King's Ange-line Tetrault is one of the organizers of TODO's Annual Auction this year! And being the proud Collective members that we are we wanted to spread the word about the awesome work she is involved in! 

The TODO auction committee is currently gearing up for another fantastic year of Toronto Design Offsite (TO DO). As you may know, putting together a festival requires funding (lots!) and they have an idea that they need your help with. Drawn from the popular crowdsourcing/crowdfunding movement, we are throwing a “designer” crowd-sourced fundraising event – “#StufDsgnrsMake Annual TO DO Auction” – on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 6-10pm at the Gladstone Hotel. All funds raised from this auction will help cover TO DO’s operating expenses. 



The team is looking for designers in Toronto and across Canada for their support in donating a design object (any thing you already have whether it be large, medium or small) to be auctioned off at this event. They are not picky about the size of the object, keep in mind the minimum bid will be $50. By donating an object, you'll be helping us to put together the BEST Indie Design Festival in Toronto.  



All participating designers will be featured on TO DO’s website. And we are working towards more press coverage.



If you are interested in participating, please send Ange-line (ange-line@retrotetro.com) a quick email saying “you’re in”. Also send her the following information by June 4:


- Your name and/or studio name

- Website

- Phone number

- Object description (100-150 words)

- Object materials

- Object dimensions (approximate) and retail value 

- 1 to 6 photos (JPEG format,  resolution 72px, please keep in mind that banner image will be cropped to 640 x 240) of your object



Toronto Design Offsite (TO DO) is an indie design festival happening annually in January during the city’s design week. TO DO's aim is to provide exposure for Canadian designers; to foster public understanding and knowledge of the practice design; and to create an ongoing presence that promotes Canada's creativity, drawing on great thinkers, practitioners, and educators to a deliver an innovative celebration of design.
